History of Land Rover National Rally (LRNR)
In 1989 Bill Davis of Great Basin Rovers approached the Land Rover Owners Association based out of
Northern California if he could organize a Land Rover national Rally under the auspices of the club.
With their blessing he then went ahead and organized the inaugural event in Moab Utah.
The first few years of the event were organized by Bill and the mountain states division of the
Land Rover Owners Association before the Solihull Society took over control.
The rest as they say is now history.
This will be the 20th consecutive year of the event which has seen it held in many locations in Utah
and Colorado including Moab, Ouray, Breckenridge, Leadville, Montrose & Steamboat Springs.
The Land Rover National Rally is a non-profit event organized by the Solihull Society.
This event aims to bring together adventure loving people who share the common interest of
Land Rovers and active four-wheeling.
The event encourages safe and responsible operation of four-wheel-drive vehicles.
Bill Burke of 4-Wheeling of America has trained members of
the Solihull Society in trail leadership, recovery techniques and safety. The Solihull Society and the
Land Rover National Rally are grateful to Bill's dedication to our event. We encourage you to take
a Bill Burke course, you will be glad you did.
The Land Rover National Rally utilizes public lands in a responsible manner as part of an effort to
keep public land trails and roads available for multipurpose use.
We are looking forward to seeing you there! by Norman Hall
